Several weeks ago my friend and classmate at the Type@Cooper Condensed program Cole Imperi contacted me and other classmate Gilad Fried about an interview about the program, type design in general and type design in Hebrew for the Jewish Federation Cincinnati website. It was a great honor and pleasure. Thanks Cole!

Nobilis typeface was created during the Condensed Typeface Design Program at the Cooper Union in NYC.
It’s distinguished appearance derives from its delicate features, such as high contrast between thick and thin, and the long descender and ascender. It looks very noble and elegant and would very much fit as a classy logotype font or it could be used for headlines with its Extra Bold weight.
The production process is not over yet, as I have to complete the full character set and wights, hopefully pretty soon.
If you have any comments/suggestions about the design I’d love to hear them!

Some lovely stamps from my dad’s collection. The first 7 have been issued in 1958 and 1959 for the holidays and their theme is the Seven Species. Designed by Zvi Narkis, a graphic and typeface designer.

Six more stamps that were issued in 1960 and 1961, also for the holidays. The first three are “Kings of Israel.” The other three are “Heroes of Israel.” Designed by Asher Calderon, who’s designed many beautiful stamps with his unique style.
